La Crosse’s Mardi Gras Rex and Queen visit schools
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -— Mardi Gras is still a few weeks away, but La Crosse’s Rex and Queen are hard at work celebrating with area Catholic school students
Greg and Amy Sutton were crowned last weekend.
The Suttons have four children who have gone to or are still attending Aquinas schools.
“What being rex and queen means for us is an opportunity to represent Aquinas Catholic Schools and raise money for our schools to support Catholic education,” Greg said.
Students let the good times roll at school assemblies Friday, catching beads and dancing to live music.
The next big Mardi Gras event happens on Fat Tuesday.
