La Crosse will soon own new Pine Street Parking Ramp
Sale expected to close within 48 hours
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — More parking may open up just in time for the Oktoberfest celebration.
The city’s newest ramp on Pine Street in downtown La Crosse will add 606 parking spots. The city is buying the ramp from ‘Third and Pine, LLC’ which is owned by developer Don Weber.
The common council voted unanimously earlier this week on the $17.2 million purchase.
The ramp is expected to open by Saturday.
“We’re waiting for the closing, which is supposed to be anytime today or tomorrow, so as soon as that happens the ramp gets turned over to the city of La Crosse and we can open it up,” said La Crosse Parking Utility Coordinator Jim Flottmeyer.
The systems for entry into the ramp will not be available for a few months. Until then, public spots will have three hour limits. That limit does not apply from 6 on Friday nights through 6 Monday mornings.
