La Crosse trick-or-treaters catch some scares seeing ‘Hollywood Horror Classics’ display
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Kids from all over the La Crosse area spent part of the day trick-or-treating Sunday.
And some of them may have come across a spooky sight on Main Street in La Crosse.
Like they’re actually in a scary movie, right?
Resident Max Doering says this year’s theme is “Hollywood Horror Classics.”
It features Hollywood Horror movie characters like Chucky, Jason, and Michael Myers.
Doering says it took him and his family four months to set up the Halloween display.
Why does Doering help set up this huge display? He says it’s to entertain the kids.
“Just seeing people look at it, I can’t even describe in words of how I feel,” Doering said. “It’s just utter magic on this night. It’s the only night that I feel like I can be myself. I don’t have rules. I don’t care what people say. It’s just a fun night for everybody.”
Doering says some of the kids do get scared, but love the creativity of the decorations.
His family has been setting up large displays for 15 years.
