La Crosse transportation vision approved
Vision provides set of guidelines when making decisions on future projects
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The future of transportation in La Crosse is starting to come into focus.
The board of public works approved the city’s ‘transportation vision’ on Monday.
The vision provides a set of guidelines for the city to follow when making decisions on future transportation projects, with an emphasis on improving traffic efficiency.
La Crosse’s mayor says the plan will also provide balance.
“The city, I think, is being very proactive by stating up front, ‘This is our vision, this is what we would like to see,’ and from the city’s standpoint, it adds I think a lot of weight to the neighborhood livability and making sure that these streets and highways, especially the larger arterial highways are done in such a way that respect the neighborhoods,” said La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat.
The transportation vision ordinance will now head to the city’s Judiciary and Administration Committee.
