La Crosse to remove bike lane symbols along part of Cass Street
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Bicycle markers along one of La Crosse’s busiest streets will soon be removed.
The city’s Public Works Department is planning on removing the bike symbols painted along the sides of Cass Street.
Some within the city have criticized how Cass Street was recently reconstructed, particularly how the bump-outs at each intersection between West Avenue and 7th Street will impact bicyclists.
The mayor says the bicycle lane markings are being removed to address any possible confusion.
The Public Works Department voted unanimously Monday morning to remove the pavement markers.
