La Crosse to collect leaves Oct. 26-Nov. 20
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — City-wide leaf collection will run Oct. 26 to Nov. 20, according to the city of La Crosse.
An online map will be available when collection starts that will show the public what area the city is working on. The city will also have drop-off sites available, which will be announced later this fall.
La Crosse residents can also dispose of leaves at the Isle La Plume Yard Waste site at 2000 Marco Drive, La Crosse.
The city recommends placing leaves on the boulevard by 7 a.m. to ensure they are picked up when trucks are in the area. It also reminded people that leaf pickup does not coincide with refuse or recycling collection and piles need to be accessible, meaning not behind cars, trees and sign posts.
The city will not collect leaves that are bagged, covered up or have brush mixed in.
The Isla La Plume Yard Waste and Brush Site is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
