La Crosse Speedway, Henderson Motorsports surprises local family
Caravan of gifts from the family's christmas list lead by race car driver Matt Henderson
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — With Christmas less than a week away one family is getting their presents a little early.
Kayden Johnson, 5, and his Grandma Robyn were surprised on Friday with literally a caravan of gifts from the family’s Christmas list. It was all because of a partnership between Henderson Motorsports and the La Crosse Speedway looking to help a family in need.
Kayden, a NASCAR enthusiast, was first greeted by race car driver Matt Henderson from Henderson Motorsports.
Henderson may not have been driving Santa’s sleigh, but was in something with a little more horse power. He was leading the caravan in his actual race car with Santa following close behind, leaving Kayden speechless.
“He didn’t say a lot he was just smiling so big. He was a little overwhelmed but he was happy. He just was smiling and he goes, thank you and merry Christmas to everybody and you know he’s a good boy, a real good boy,” said Kayden’s grandmother Robyn Mumford.
A total of 5 area businesses along with the La Crosse School district helped make the surprise possible.
