La Crosse SOUP to hold event at Rotary Lights
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse SOUP is holding an event tomorrow evening at Rotary Lights.
For a five dollar donation, attendees receive a cup of soup and a vote. Four groups will pitch their idea for four minutes each on how they plan to make a positive impact and improve the La Crosse community. The audience may ask up to four questions of each presenter. Once all ideas are shared, everyone votes for their favorite. Once all the votes are counted, the winner is awarded all the funds raised during the event.
The SOUP event is scheduled for December 5, at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park beginning at 5 p.m. Group pitches begin at 6 p.m. with the winner being announced at 7:30 p.m.
4 Sisters Wine and Tapas Restaurant and The Crow who will be making the soups. In addition, students from SOTA 1 La Crosse will be baking some cookies and bars for dessert. Pearl Street Brewery will also have some of their beers on tap.
Modern Woodmen of America donating up to $2,200 in matching funds. Second and third places will receive $1,000 each and fourth place will get $200.
To keep expenses low and minimize impact on our planet, organizers ask that you bring your own bowl and spoon. They will have some reusable bowls and spoons if needed.
Dependent on the weather, the event will be held in the tent, on the stage, or a combination of both. An announcement will be made as the event gets closer.
