La Crosse Soup hears proposals to improve La Crosse community
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse community improvement ideas went before a crowd of people enjoying bowls of soup.
For $5, La Crosse Soup attendees got a bowl for soup and a vote. Then 4 proposals made their pitches.
They included providing eye glasses for children, creating an after school art and music program, starting a project to work with people who have opioid addictions and funding an adaptive show choir camp for middle and high schoolers of all abilities.
“It’s so fun to bring the community together to support creative ideas. Everyone connects with this. It’s a way for everyone to get engaged and it’s easy and it’s fun. We love it,” said La Crosse Soup Executive Director Josh Court.
The proposal Wednesday night’s crowd votes for will receive all of the funds raised.
