La Crosse schools extend virtual learning to Oct. 11

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) — The School District of La Crosse will extend virtual learning for all students though at least Oct. 11, according to a statement sent out Wednesday by Superintendent Aaron Engel.

Engel cited the Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative assessment provided Wednesday by the La Crosse County Health Department, which puts both the seven-day average case rate and seven-day average positive test ratio in the red.

The school district uses a decision matrix based on the Harvard Global Health Institute as a model to determine the mode of learning for students, according to Engel.
