La Crosse residents tailgate at Packer game

Some made the trip without tickets, just to be near the fun

While fans in La Crosse packed bars and restaurants to watch the game, some made the trip all the way to Green Bay to cheer on the green and gold.

Even if they couldn’t get into the game.

Games at Lambeau are one thing, but tailgating is another. “This is the best thing ever, right now like I can’t go to school tomorrow, forget it, forget it,” said Kasia Wojciehoski.

Kasia and Jozef Wojciehoski go to school in La Crosse but that’s not on their minds Sunday. “Honestly if I had school today, I’d skip.  I don’t care,” said Kasia.

“We bleed Green and Gold so we’re here just about every weekend and every home game and we love it,” added Jozef.

And while some would skip school, others say its the perfect way to get away. “Just nice to like let go, you don’t have to worry about school or anything,  you can take the mind off school for awhile and hang out,” said Allie Schmitt, a UW-L student who made her way to Green Bay.

Two U-W-L students say no ticket, no problem. “Even if you don’t come to the game, we can still tailgate.  We still live close enough to come three hours before the game, just hang out. It’s always a win no matter what, even if they lose it’s a win,” said UW-L student Lindsey McGuire.

And while Packer fans might disagree with that, all Packer fans can agree, if you can, you need to make the trip. “You buy them no matter what, you buy the tickets,” said Dave Lauer and Bob Schmitt, “just because you can’t miss an opportunity like this.”
