La Crosse Regional Airport opens newly renovated security check point
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Passengers at the La Crosse Regional Airport might notice some changes before departure.
The airport opened up its second floor security check point Tuesday. It’s part of the airport’s renovations on the terminal building. The new space has a restaurant, a gift shop, and more seating for passengers before getting on their plane.
The airport manager says the added space creates a whole new travel experience for passengers.
“Just in comparison, our old secure area sat about 100 seats very closely compressed. Now, we have over 220 seats dispersed in a much wider area, obviously a lot of windows which helps create more of an open view point with some beautiful views,” said Clinton Torp.
Crews are now working on final phase of the project on the first level of the airport. Work should be completed by January.
