La Crosse Public Library hosts basement sales to fund programs
Items range from 10 cents to $1
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Public Library is being funded in a unique way.
The Friends of the Library group is hosting a “Basement Sale” to help benefit the different programs at the library. The sales are held on the first Monday of the month in the basement of the main branch.
Buyers can find books, CD’s, magazines and more. The prices for the items vary from ten cents to one dollar.
Organizers hope the sales provide a good incentive to get more people to read.
“It benefits the community by providing low-cost items for enjoyment, and I have to share that many people who come in to buy an item will read it and then return it, so it’s recycled again,” said Friends of the Library Board Member Wendy Butler.
The last Monday morning sale is August 7.
