La Crosse pools open this weekend as temperatures look to rise

Free Flick and Float nights also return

Warming temperatures may leave you looking for a place to cool off. Luckily, La Crosse pools are opening on Saturday for the summer season.

‘Free Flick and Float’ nights return to Erickson Pool this year as well, which gives families a chance to watch a movie while in the pool.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department sees the pools opening as a chance for more than just fun.

“It’s wonderful. I think it offers a lot of jobs for even younger people to get some experience, and then for the kids to come out with their families and spend some time in the sun, hanging out. It gives them a break from the school year,” said La Crosse Parks & Recreation Department Aquatics Coordinator Stefani Fitzsimmons.
