La Crosse police to host 2015 Citizen Police Academy
Course runs Tuesdays at March 10-May 12
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Police Department will host its Citizen Police Academy on Tuesdays beginning March 10 through May 12.
La Crosse police said the free course will help participants will learn about patrol operations, investigations, use of force, and community policing.
Police say recent events in Ferguson, MO and New York are likely to come up during the program, but it hasn’t changed the academy.
“Obviously that will probably be a focus of this year’s with the events that have happened across our country, with more emphasis on the use of force and for our training,” said Sgt. Randy Rank.
Last year, 22 La Crosse residents went through the course.
