La Crosse Police respond to hit and run on South Side

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Police responded to a hit and run near Adams Street and Grant Court early Monday afternoon.

A witness said the driver of a pick up truck swerved and hit a parked car. The passenger of the truck then got out to assess the damage on the vehicle, before hopping back in the truck as it drove away down an alley towards Johnson street.

“There was a construction truck coming down Adams street coming form the east going west. About half way down the block, it started to veer south here and drove right into the vehicle,” said witness Jim Murray.

Murray and police found the truck’s license plate on the side of the road. Murray was also able to provide a physical description of the driver.
