La Crosse Police investigate overnight shooting incident
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The La Crosse Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that happened shortly after 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
Police were dispatched to the area of 200 8th Street North at 3:03 a.m. this morning, July 9, for a report of multiple gunshots. Officers determined shots were fired into homes at 229/231 8th Street North. According to police, no one inside the residences was hit by gunfire or injured.
A possible suspect vehicle was identified by police and later located by a La Crosse Police civilian employee and ultimately stopped by UW-La Crosse Police with the assistance of the Onalaska Police Department. As a result, three individuals were taken into custody and two firearms and one facsimile gun were confiscated.
No charges have been referred to the La Crosse County District Attorney’s Office yet and the incident remains under investigation. Police say there is no identifiable threat to the community in association with this incident.
