La Crosse Police have safety reminders for Halloween
LA CROSSE (WKBT) – With Halloween a few days away, La Crosse Police want to remind both trick-or-treaters and drivers to be extra aware.
Recommended trick-or-treating hours in La Crosse are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
To keep kids visible to drivers, officers recommend putting reflective tape on costumes or attaching glow sticks to clothing, or even treat buckets.
For students and people who are older and looking to celebrate Halloween downtown, police are reminding everyone to come prepared for anything.
“Don’t drink too much, don’t overindulge, make sure you know where you’re at,” said La Crosse Police Sergeant Brooke Pataska. “Again, stay in those groups, groups of friends. Don’t leave someone behind. Even like your cellphone, make sure those batteries are fully charged.”
Officers are also asking drivers to drive slowly through neighborhoods and downtown areas.
