La Crosse Police, Dive, Rescue teams continue search for missing man

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The La Crosse Police Department and Dive and Rescue teams continue their search today for a missing La Crosse man.

The La Crosse Police Department is asking for help finding James Zaragoza, 62, in reference to a welfare check.

According to the department, Zaragoza was last seen in La Crosse on Saturday, Feb. 22 at approximately 8 p.m. He was seen near the Catholic Charities Warming Center at 413 3rd Street South.

Zaragoza’s personal belongings were found at Houska Park Monday morning, February 24. La Crosse Dive Unit and La Crosse Fire/Dive Rescue teams were mobilized to search the Mississippi River near Houska Park for the missing man.

Zaragoza is 5 ft. 10 in. tall, weighs 190 lbs., has brown hair and green eyes.

He is known to wear a burgundy and green plaid scarf with a brown dress hat. Zaragoza frequently uses a walking cane and carries a black leather briefcase and red backpack.
