La Crosse officers spend morning on Dunkin’ Donuts’ roof for the Special Olympics
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — If your morning routine includes a stop to a La Crosse coffee shop, you may have run into an odd sight.
La Crosse Police officers took to Dunkin’ Donuts’ roof Friday morning for a good cause! The officers raised money for Special Olympics of Wisconsin.
Half of all doughnut sales at Dunkin’ Donuts were donated to the Special Olympics, and those who made cash donations could get Special Olympics mugs.
“It really shows that not only are we out there writing tickets and doing things like that, but it’s also providing a service for the community,” said La Crosse Police Department Officer Whitney Hughes.
La Crosse was one of 59 ‘Cop on a Rooftop’ locations in Wisconsin Friday. Officers across the state were hoping to raise more than last year’s total, which reached more than $74,000.
