La Crosse launching new program to help homeowners make energy efficient changes
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse’s Planning Department is announcing a new energy efficiency program for homeowners.
Organizers are hoping to get 100 homeowners to make green improvements to their home. Those that sign up for the “Mayor’s Home Energy Challenge” would be eligible for city incentives to help pay for part of the cost.
The program begins with an expert making recommendations on possible green improvements.
“What are some improvements that you can make to save on your heating bills, and improve the comfort of your home, and save on electricity? And then from there we’ll help guide them to actually making those improvements,” said La Crosse Community Development Administrator Caroline Gregerson.
The “Mayor’s Home Energy Challenge” launches next Monday.
