La Crosse firefighters battle basement fire; no injuries reported
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse firefighters battled a basement fire on the city’s North Side Tuesday morning.
The fire was in a house in the 1900 block of Prospect Street.
Battalion Chief Greg Temp says there were no injuries in the fire.
It’s too early to tell if those who lived there will need temporary housing, Temp said.
“We had a very fast, quick and effective response to the scene,” Temp said. “And we were able to firefighters where we needed to to extinguish the flames.”
Investigators are trying to determine the fire’s cause.
