La Crosse County to hold ammo collection event

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse County residents can drop off unwanted ammunition Saturday at the La Crosse County Solid Waste facility.

The event is open from 8 a.m. to noon at 3202 Berlin Drive, La Crosse. The first five pounds are free and the charge is $5 per pound afterward.

It is open to La Crosse County residents only and business waste will not be accepted. It is limited to factory rounds of 50 caliber or 8 gauge or less. No black powder, military munitions, fireworks or explosives will be accepted.

All customers must remain in their vehicles and no other waste materials will be accepted during the event.
