La Crosse County resident dies from COVID-19 bringing total to 23 deaths

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)– One more La Crosse County resident has died from COVID-19, bringing the total to 23 deaths. One more county resident has been hospitalized, according to the Department of Health Services.

58 new cases have been reported in La Crosse County. 4608 county residents have had the virus.

For La Crosse County, the age ranges with the most number of cases reported Sunday were people between 30 and 39 with 14 new cases. That is followed by people between the ages of 50 to 59 with 10 new cases.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 3,493 more people tested positive for COVID-19. There are usually fewer cases reported on Sunday. The seven-day average, which smooths out any day-to-day fluctuations, shows Wisconsin continues to trend upward.

The seven-day average percent positive by person for testing is 29.5%. Health officials say this could indicate an increase in COVID-19 infections.

There are 47,551 active cases in the state. 179,230 people have recovered from COVID-19.

16 more Wisconsinites have died.

123 more people are hospitalized for COVID-19. 5% of Wisconsin cases have required hospitalization.
