La Crosse County jail has no COVID-19 cases
Cleaning efforts, protective equipment used to keep staff, inmates safe
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The La Crosse County Jail is still without a COVID-19 case.
Inmates are screened and quarantined when coming into the jail
And jail staff are cleaning jail surfaces including the use of a UVC light to help with disinfection.
And staff are using Personal Protective Equipment while dealing with inmates.
The effort to keep inmates safe starts before anyone even gets to the building.
“We work with probation parole on assessing their clients on who does need to come to jail, who maybe doesn’t,” said La Crosse County Sheriff Jeff Wolf.
The jail has 80 inmates listed on the online roster.
