La Crosse County announces more COVID-19 testing sites
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WBKT) – The La Crosse County Health Department and the Wisconsin National Guard have scheduled three more COVID-19 testing sites for August.
Testing will be held at the Health and Human Services Building parking lot, 300 4th Street North, La Crosse, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 17, 24, and 31. (August 24 and 31 are tentative)
The organizations are planning for the maximum number of tests to be available each day. If they run out of tests before the event is over, the Health Department staff will update the La Crosse County COVID-19 website and the Health Department’s Facebook page.
The COVID-19 testing event is primarily for La Crosse County residents and those aged 5 or over experiencing at least one symptom of COVID 19. Symptoms of COVID 19can be mild and include; fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell. Testing will be done by nasal swab and there is no cost to participate.
The La Crosse County Health Department encourages those who are being tested to register online to save time and reduce wait times on Monday. The link to register can be found here.
