La Crosse council swears in new members
Swearing-in ceremony creates new council
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Common Council swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday after the final council session.
Elected was a new Council president, two new members to the Board of Public Works, and two others were also appointed to the Board of Park Commissioners.
Although challenges will be a part of the new council, La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat says he’s hopeful the momentum of the last council will carry over stating, “I know that there are current council members existing, veterans that will help them out… get them off on the right foot, help answer questions. And we do have a formal orientation so there’s a session for each one that goes through the legislation, process, committees and other things.”
Although goodbyes to previous members of the council was difficult, Kabat says the new council is ready to continue working hard to improve La Crosse.
