La Crosse Community Thanksgiving continues holiday tradition

About 3,000 meals were served to community members

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A La Crosse Thanksgiving tradition is back again.

The Community Thanksgiving Dinner provides meals for about 3,000 people.

The dinner held at the La Crosse Center was for pick-up or delivery only to keep everyone safe.

Meals included turkey with the usual favorites including mashed potatoes and cranberries.

In a year that has been difficult in many ways, volunteers say they are happy to help those that need it.

“It just feels good on Thanksgiving to help others out. May not have a Thanksgiving dinner, or aren’t able to cook or grocery shop,” said La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner volunteer Maggie Marrinan.

This was the 39th year of the dinner.
