La Crosse community gets ready for Thanksgiving Day meal

LA CROSSE (WKBT) – A La Crosse Thanksgiving tradition returns to the La Crosse Center.

The annual community dinner celebrates the caring individuals of the Coulee Region and the people who help make that meal possible.

Last year’s volunteers served thousands of meals to Coulee Region families.

According to organizers, it is a family effort that makes the dinner successful.

“We have evolved into one big family,” said president and planning committee chair Ruth McQuiston-Keil. “Every year there’s hugs and ‘how’s your mom?’ ‘how’s the grandkids?’ so if you were not able to come and join us this year as a volunteer, please come and join us next year.”

Doors will open at 10 with a worship service following at 10:30 a.m.

The meal will be served between 11:00 a.m. and 3 p.m.
