La Crosse City Council unanimously approves 2020 Operating Budget

The 2020 Operating Budget for the City of La Crosse was unanimously approved by the common council at Tuesday’s meeting.

Prior to adopting the budget the council held a public hearing – a chance for La Crosse residents to voice any recommended amendments or changes to the proposal. After the hearing, the budget was approved 11-0.

Some highlights for the 2020 budget include expanding the La Crosse Neighborhood Resource Officer Program, and adding more staff to the street department to help with construction projects.

Even with these additions, La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat says overall spending for next year’s budget will be reduced.
