La Crosse Center scheduled to fully open in December

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The end is in sight for the construction and renovation of the La Crosse Center.

Many areas of the event center are already completed, including the arena.

The upstairs ballroom and meeting rooms are getting finishing touches.

One of the decisions made at Wednesday night’s La Crosse Center Board meeting was about which artworks will be hung in the ballroom.

The entire project is expected to be finished right on schedule.

The official opening date is December 1st, marking the culmination of seven years of work.

“Five years was all planning, two years of construction,” said Art Fahey, Executive Director of the La Crosse Center. “You can see all of the finishing touches that are going on and it’s going to be spectacular, the community is really going to be excited about it.”

Fahey says he expects to have an open house before December to allow the community to see all the changes.

He also said events will ramp up from January 2022 onwards, and to keep an eye out for new events coming to the center.
