La Crosse Center renovation takes next step
Work part of $40 million dollar renovation of the 40 year old downtown La Crosse facility
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The renovation of the La Crosse Center is moving to the next step.
Workers are addressing the existing plumbing and electrical infrastructure in the existing North Hall of the facility.
Starting next week, demolition of the North Hall will start with the roof.
The $40 million project will include a large addition on the west wing and back of the building.
While people walking near the Center may have to change where their course, drivers will have an easier time.
“As far as drive by traffic, for the most part, it’ll be there, it’ll be available. But obviously there is going to be times where we’ve got cranes and things and things working out here that’ll bring it down to one lane,” said La Crosse Center director Art Fahey.
Workers do have a deadline, events are already booked for the new space a year from now.
