La Crosse celebrates Memorial Day with annual parade
Hundreds line streets for parade
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse held its Memorial Day celebrations Monday morning with the city’s annual parade.
Veterans, family and friends lined the streets as floats made their way through the La Crosse parade route. Hundreds lined the streets to remember those that lost their lives and to thank those that are still serving.
Both the young and old in attendance say the celebration gives them a chance to show their thanks.
“It’s where you remember the veterans who fought for us and died. Cause if they wouldn’t have fought we wouldn’t have our freedom that we have now,” said Memorial Day Parade goer Edie Wiese.
The annual parade ended at La Crosse’s Oak Grove Cemetery.
