La Crosse Boys & Girls Clubs holds 55th Celebration of Champions
La Crosse BGC honor youth and staff who set positive example in community
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse lifted up children for their accomplishments over the past year. Sunday marked the 55th annual Celebration of Champions for the club.
Graduating seniors were awarded $12,000 dollars in scholarships for college. Mission Awards honors several members and club staff who set a positive example for the clubs. The event means a lot for families who call the La Crosse region home.
“There’s some second and third-generation families that we’re able to celebrate that have grown up in our Boys and Girls Clubs. Maybe mom or dad received an award at this banquet decades ago and now the kids are here receiving,” Jake Erickson said, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. “It’s just a great evening of celebration here at the club.”
Erickson said they were happy to celebrate the children’s accomplishments in person this year.
