La Crosse Area Day announces winner of ‘First Pitch Competition’
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An area non-profit is set to take the mound at Miller Park this summer.
A representative from BreastFest La Crosse will be throwing out the first pitch at the annual La Crosse Area Day.
The organization raises money for breast cancer survivors and families of those who have lost loved ones.
It was one of ten different non-profits people could vote for to represent the area at the game.
Their vote came in the form of dollars on the La Crosse area day website, with all the money going back to the non-profits.
With the game set for June 30 th , organizers say they hope for another successful year at the ball park.
“This will be the 19th year and hands down, according to the Milwaukee Brewers, this is the longest community standing event of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. Some other biggest cities get dropped off, but I don’t think anybody has the support that the La Crosse Area does,” said Dan Deicher.
Tickets for the La Crosse Area Day go on sale this Friday at www.lacrosseareaday.com.
