La Crosse area criminal justice system past, future discussed at ‘Lunch & Learn’ forum

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A lunchtime event focused on progress in the local criminal justice system.

The League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area invited a panel to participate in the discussion.

Speakers included La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke, Circuit Court Judge Scott Horne, County Board Supervisor and Chair of the Judicial law Committee Margaret Larson and assistant UWL psychology professor Sutha Veerasamy.

The panel discussed the successes of the criminal justice management council over the past 10 years, as well as what the system will look like ten years into the future.

They’re taking into account equity, inclusion, and diversity.

The Criminal Justice Management Council was created to evaluate the La Crosse County Criminal Justice system.
