La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce Day declared for March
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A local business-focused organization in La Crosse is celebrating an anniversary milestone with the help of city leaders.
A mayoral proclamation was made Tuesday, declaring March 5th as ‘La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce Day’. The day will celebrate the Chamber’s 150th year helping La Crosse area businesses and communities.
Next month’s events will show people the impact the membership-based nonprofit has had on local developments.
“Everything from starting Oktoberfest, to starting Downtown Mainstreet, the Development Corporation, Explore La Crosse, to helping Viterbo with their expansion. We’ve been a strong advocate in this community, and it’s fun to look back on the history and the impact that we’ve had,” said La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vicki Markussen.
The La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1868. It received accreditation from the U-S Chamber of Commerce as an official Chamber in 1912.
