La Crosse area businesses learn to improve environmental impact through MPower
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Local businesses are learning how to reduce their impact on our environment.
Western Technical College’s Sustainability Institute wrapped up its fourth year of the MPower Champions program Tuesday.
MPower puts businesses and organizations through a one-year customizable class on reducing environmental impacts with cost-saving and healthier workplaces. Tuesday’s event celebrated the 8 organizations that took part in the program in 2018.
“We live in a much different world now than we did even 10 years ago, so businesses and organizations really need to be thinking about their impact not only environmentally but also to the community,” said Western Technical College Sustainability Coordinator Casey Meehan.
Any business interested in taking part in the 2019 MPower Champions Program can apply at the Sustainability Institute website.
