La Crosse approves new parking ramp mural featuring native plants
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The La Crosse Public Works Board Monday approved a new mural to be painted on the Main Street parking ramp.
Viroqua artist Natalie Hinahara’s vision for the mural includes plants native to this part of the world.
The yarrow and blue vervain plants will line the inside archway of the ramp entrance.
“She drew a parking ramp mural on the Main Street parking ramp entrance just north of John’s Bar,” said Parks Board member Jacqueline Marcou. “It’s a similar project following the process that we did with another mural.”
Hinahara hopes to begin painting soon and intends to finish the mural by Aug. 1.
