La Crosse 3rd graders hand-make blankets for Salvation Army
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — About a dozen La Crosse residents stuck out in the cold winter nights will be a little warmer this season thanks to some elementary students!
Third graders at Emerson Elementary School spent their Tuesday afternoon making tie blankets. Those hand-made gifts will be donated to the Salvation Army of La Crosse to make its winter warming center a little comfier this winter.
“The Salvation Army is where homeless people go for shelter, so it’s really nice at this time of year cause of the cold. So we donate blankets so they can stay warm,” said Emerson Elementary 3rd grader Riley Hatlevig.
The students also made hand-made ornaments and holiday cards for their families.
