La Crosse 1st graders leave their mark on downtown area with a mural
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) —
A new mural in downtown La Crosse will include some creativity from the city’s youngest generation!
Hamilton Elementary 1st graders are working with a local artist to bring some color to the north side of the Midwest Family Broadcasting building.
The mural is a black-and-white drawing of a face with colored sound waves going into the person’s ear. The kids used splatter painting to color in part of that sound wave.
“What color were you using?” said News 8 Photographer Jake Rogness.
“Blue,” said Hamilton Elementary 1st Grader Simon.
“Blue? Is that your favorite color?”
“Yeah, and orange.”
“You said you made a map? What’s the map of?”
“It’s a blue, big river!”
“Was that fun for you?”
The mural commissioned by Midwest Family Broadcasting is expected to be finished by the end of the week. You can find it in downtown La Crosse at the radio building on the corner of 2nd and State streets,
