La Crescent-Hokah honors senior students with special graduation events

Events hosted at La Crescent-Hokah High School

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – Individual graduation ceremonies are giving kids from a local high school a taste of tradition in an unusual time.

La Crescent-Hokah Public Schools is hosting the ceremonies for students.

It gives kids a chance to walk across the school’s stage and get their diploma.

They can even have some family members in attendance.

The event gives students a chance for some closure to their high school journey.

“I give them a lot of credit. They organized it, they put it together, they decorated the stage. The graduates walk in, they’ve got ‘pomp and circumstance’. We try to make it as similar as an experience as possible,” said La Crescent 5-12 principal Steve Smith.

La Crescent-Hokah administrators are planning to get the video of the graduation ceremonies to the families.
