Kriskindlmarkt to return to Sparta for holiday season

Market located on Water Street

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – Shoppers in Monroe County have some chances to support some local businesses soon.

Sparta’s sixth annual Kriskindlmarkt opens Friday at four in the afternoon on Water Street.

The outdoor market, which runs through the next three weekends, includes local crafters and non-profit groups.

The market is a chance to support local vendors during holiday season.

“We added three new permanent booths. Plus new signage kiosk, down at the end of love lock bridge, where there will also be an open grill for brats and hot dogs. They will be selling bavarian pretzels with the different types of mustards. And it’s really a unique experience,” said Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Heidi Prestwood.

The Kriskindlmarkt will be open the next three Fridays from four in the afternoon until eight in the evening.

It will also be open starting at ten on Saturday mornings.

Details are available on the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce website.
