Kids try log rolling and throwing hatchets at Youth Outdoor Fest in La Crosse

Youth Outdoor Fest will be held at Veterans Freedom Park, Clinton Street, La Crosse, WI

Thousands of people enjoyed the great outdoors this weekend by stopping by the Youth Outdoor Fest in La Crosse.

Attendees got the chance to participate in activities such as archery, hatchet throwing and log rolling.

With 37 booths, one organizer said it’s a great way to introduce kids to new activities.

“I can guarantee there is something here that the kids haven’t tried before whether it’s sifting through water to finding aquatic invertebrates or going through the soil, it’s pretty amazing all the events we have going on here,” said Heidi Keuler, fish biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

This was the 8th year of the event.
