Kids take part in UWL football clinic & tailgate party
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Area kids hit the grid iron with UW-La Crosse’s football team.
The Eagles football Team hosted its annual football clinic and tailgate party Monday. It’s put on by the La Crosse park and recreation department. Nearly 100 kids took part in a football clinic taught by coaches and players on the team.
Organizers say it’s a great way to get young fans out of the bleachers and on to the field.
“As you can see going on behind me here, they have a little defensive drill where they go through some pads and come around and tackle one of the tackling dummies. Yeah, it’s a lot of fun,” said Michael Percy, recreational coordinator for La Crosse.
Afterwards there was a tailgate party with food and drinks in the parking lot of the stadium.
