Just Du It! gets kids outside and active
Kids in the duathlon ran and biked through one of three courses
TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WKBT) — Kids in our area had a chance to run and bike through a competition on Saturday.
The nonprofit Communities Off N’ Funning brought back their annual Just Tri It! to Trempealeau as the Just Du It!.
Communities Off N’ Funning started in 2009 with a mission to get kids, families, and communities out and active.
The youth race was changed from a triathlon to a duathlon this year due to construction at the Trempealeau Municipal Pool.
Kids in the duathlon ran and biked through a one and a half, a two and three quarter, or a five mile course.
“We don’t care what it is that you’re doing, just get out and play, get out and do something different, and so our mission really is to do kind of left-of-center things that give everybody the opportunity to get out no matter what your age, what your ability, just come out and play,” said Communities Off N’ Funning Director Amy Brenengen.
About 50 kids competed in today’s duathlon.
