Joy of Sharing to help support Toys for Tots

Drive to be held at Onalaska's Festival Foods on Friday

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Coming up Friday, News 8 Now is celebrating the joys of sharing.

Join us for the 1-day event at Festival Foods in Onalaska.

Your donations will support several local organizations, including Toys for Tots.

The organization collected their donation barrels Monday, meaning Friday’s event is a last chance to donate for the year.

Toys for Tots says they have about as many families registered this year as they have in past year, despite only having online registration.

One toy can bring countless smiles to kids in our area.

“We want to help everybody out. Our theory is no kid should go toyless for Christmas. No family should have to struggle and worry and stress out about ‘How am I going to get my kids anything for Christmas, if I’m having a bad year financially. Was laid off, lost my job because of this.’ We’re here to help,” said La Crosse Toys for Tots media assistant director Jason Jones.

Everything starts at five this Friday morning.

News 8 Now will be there until 6:30 that evening.

Stop by and drop off donations of new unwrapped toys, non-perishable food and cash.

Your donations will help Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army of La Crosse County and and Hunger Task Force.
