Joint investigation leads to arrests in recent crime spree

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A joint investigation between La Crosse, Town of Campbell, and Onalaska Police Departments led to a search warrant and the arrest of two individuals involved in a string of thefts, vehicle entries, and burglaries.

Crime Spree

Multiple thefts, burglaries, and vehicle entries were reported during late July. Two suspects were identified through a joint investigation between the three police departments and a search warrant was issued for 902 Caledonia Street in La Crosse. During the search, police were able to identify several items that were reported stolen recently. Five La Crosse cases, seven from the Town of Campbell and three cases from Onalaska were solved through the investigation. Law enforcement also recovered four stolen vehicles as a result of the investigation.

Tyler D. Peregrin, 21, of La Crosse and Bryce A. Benson, 24, of La Crosse are facing the following charges:

  • Operating Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent
  • Burglary & Party to the Crime of Burglary
  • Entry to vehicle & Party to the Entry to Vehicle
  • Theft
  • Possession of Stolen Property
