Jake’s Northwoods in Sparta to close restaurant next month

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) — Jake’s Northwoods in Sparta announced Tuesday that it will close its restaurant doors Jan. 3, 2021, citing the impact of COVID-19 on the hospitality business in a Facebook post.

” We have tried our best to navigate this uncharted territory. We’ve pivoted to change our model, but there’s just no way for that level of business to support the financial weight of our company and the building that we call home,” the owners said in a statement.

The restaurant is closing; however, the business will still offer some catering and use of the event space.

“Our hearts are full knowing that you put your faith in us to serve your needs. I’d be mistaken if I didn’t acknowledge my staff, the back bone of this business. We’ve been fortunate to have such caring and attentive staff throughout our 12 years,” said the owners.

The business encouraged people to use any unused gift cards by Jan. 2 and support local businesses.
