Isolated Very Brief Showers In Spots This Evening… Comfortable Overnight -Bill Graul
Hot & Humid For Our Holiday Weekend
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 61F / Friday’s Forecast High: 85F…
The June climate stats are in… and we just had the hottest June on record in La Crosse, barely beating out June of 1933. 5 record highs were set and 4 record warm lows were set or tied. Thanks to a wet last 2 weeks, rainfall ended up above average for the month… after no measurable rain fell during the first 16 days of June.
A weak trough will bring isolated very brief showers or sprinkles to a few spots this evening, but the rain chance is only at about 10%. Otherwise, expect mostly clear skies tonight with comfortable lows in the 50s to around 60F. There could even be some 40s in traditional cooler spots north and east.
Friday is shaping up to be a really nice summer day, with sunny to partly cloudy skies. Temps will be seasonably warm with highs in the low-mid 80s, but it won’t be all that humid. It will be a different story over the holiday weekend, with hot and humid conditions expected. Highs will top 90F both days, with increasing humidity making it feel even a bit hotter. Slight chance of showers and t-storms later Sunday night, but it should hold off until after fireworks displays.
Looking Ahead… Chances for scattered showers and t-storms next Monday and Tuesday. Still hot Monday with highs around 90F, then dropping into the mid 80s on Tuesday. Just isolated t-showers look possible at this time on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Have a great night! -Bill Graul
